We are so close now! School starts in one week!!! The girls are so excited to see all of their friend’s again. Emma already knows who her teacher is because she was in the 4th/5th split last year so they stay in the same classroom for both years. Lauren is anxiously awaiting to see who she will be spending the year with! We decided to go out this week and get our school shots done. That way they can just get ready for school and not worry about mom pulling out the “dreaded” camera and embarrassing them!! OK..that is a good compromise! We headed out to a field near our house and luck would have it that there was a YMCA camp going on…so we got to use a bus for the background too!! This is ironic because my kids will never ever use the bus system. We live too close to our elementary and middle school and our high schools use the Metro buses, not the yellow school buses. This makes them sad every year, but I tell them…you would want to ride the bus for about a week and then you would be begging me to take you to school!

So happy to be packing up and heading out of the itchy grass!! My kids are troopers!! We headed to red Robin for lunch after this…their choice!

These were the most cooperative little sisters ever. I felt so sorry for the little one. It was a super bright, sunny day in Bremerton and the poor little thing could hardly see! They were real troopers for the workshop and were as polite as can be!!! I have to give thanks to Rachael Noah of Verve Life Portraits for the great tin can prop!! She is so clever!

I have had lots of babies on the blog lately, so I thought it was time to show off some seniors too! Last month I spent some time in Bremerton at a workshop held by Katie Trujillo. She had some great models for us to work with. Here are a few shots. I have another senior and two little girls still to blog…I will get them up soon! I shoot newborns and children the most, so it was fun to work with older kids who actually like to pose!
The workshop was a great experience and I got to meet some other photographers I knew from Clickinmoms! Yay!

Look at this little angel. Little baby M came to me today with her momma and grandma for her very first photo shoot. She was such a dream to work with….she slept like a baby the whole time!
I have lots more of this little pea pod…but I wanted to get a few up for grandma!!

My niece had her dance recital this weekend down in Tacoma at The Pantages theater. We went to her evening show and were able to see her perform her hip-hop numbers. Earlier that day she performed her ballet and lyrical routines. She did such a great job. We are so proud of her!
In between her shows, she had a short break so we took a few shots of her in a parking garage next to the theater.

A couple of weeks ago, my cousin came up to visit her daughter that goes to UW for mother’s day. She brought her other daughter with her and we all decided to trek on down to Pike Place Market!! These shots are not technically perfect…maybe even “snap shotty”, but navigating through the crowded market with my two kids in tow is a challenge in itself!! So I was lucky to get any snaps!! LOL! We had a great time and got to show them the sites!

Just some shots of the city people. The guy below was tending to our very favorite donut shop in the market. It has the greasiest, little donuts…but they are soooo good! Doesn’t he look thrilled to have me taking shots of him?

Of course we had to stop at Starbucks. We have many streets in Seattle that have a Starbucks on each corner…so we frequent them often. This Starbuck’s is special though, because it is the very first one!! It is where the madness began!!

The famous “Flying Fish” vendors!

Shots outside the market. Lauren and daddy taking a break in the middle of the road. It was closed off today. It is also very bright and sunny…something we are not used to in Seattle! HaHa!!

The girls all stopping for a shot and Ian, my brother getting in on the action. He is sporting his “new stash”. It is now gone…that was a short phase, thankfully!

My cousin and her daughters!! So beautiful!

Another street vendor. My girls did not believe he was real, until someone gave him money and he came off his podium to shake their hand and then FROZE again! Not great shots of him, but his make-up was amazing!

After going through the market we hopped on the underground buses and headed to the international district. It was a short ride and we did it more for fun…so after a few minutes there, we hopped on the new sound Transit for the ride home!! It was a fun day of sight seeing…bus riding, train riding and eating!! My cousin said she felt like she went on a full vacation in just the 4 hours we were there!! LOL!

This little guy was was such a trooper. He had just got shots before coming to get his pictures done. Poor thing..he was probably not liking the idea of strange people doing weird things to him this day. First baby shots and now this lady wants me to sleep in a basket with big fuzzy hats!! LOL. But he was more than willing to be a great little model!!!

These two little guys were so fun!! The older brother had so much energy. He was zipping around the playground..up and down the slides..across the monkey bars..on and off the swings. The little guy just looked at me with the most curious look. He was not too sure of me. He was Mr. Serious when I was close, but as soon as he was with his brother, he was all giggles! Thank You to the E Family for letting me capture your cuties!!
