Man oh man…I always love photographing little Emma. She has changed so much since she was a newborn. I am telling you…those lashes are to die for! :) One year olds are always the hardest year to photograph. They do not want to sit still for a second. So you have to catch them on the run! So that is what we did…we left their house and went to a park to run!!!

WOW!! What an honor to be able to photograph the Likes Family. Jen is fellow photographer that I met online through Clickinmoms. We share the same passion for photography and for family. After a few meet-ups we have become fast friends and our kids even like hanging out together…BONUS! She has a daughter, Molly who is a year older than Emma, then there is Gracie and Hunter who are a year older and a year younger than Lauren…plus the little tag-a-long Juju who is three! So last year when she asked me to photograph the reunion when her husband Travis would return from deployment, I said…SURE!! But hey, that was a long time ago and I didn’t know if it would really happen or not! Well, it did happen…TODAY. Last year her husband Travis, who is a shooter was deployed. In fact, he has been deployed 299 days since January 2010 and just today returned from a 199 day deployment. Can you imagine? I am sure some of you can. However, I cannot..I cannot imagine being from my husband for that long, I can not imagine taking care of my kids by myself for that long and I cannot imagine holding it all together for that long…but Jen did! She took care of the girls, she taxied them to their varies activities and loved on them while they were sick, she did all the mommy duties and the daddy duties..like maintaining the house…all this while still finding time to practice her craft of photography. To me that is AMAZING!!! Simply AMAZING! I am also so amazed and grateful for all that the soldiers do for our country…all the sacrifices they give to make this country a better place. So I THANK YOU, LCDR Travis Likes, for all that you have done for the past 299 days and hope you are enjoying your homecoming with your family. You were truly missed by that group of five ladies!!

So for all of you..here is the reunion of the Likes family today when Travis sailed in and stepped off the USS Abraham Lincoln after 199 days of being apart from his family!

These little cuties gave me a run for my money!! The first little cutie you see is three…enough said!! She was not really in the mood to sit and have her picture taken so we got what we could!! In fact she really didn’t want to have her pictures done with her new little sister, but we were able to get a few of her in there. Her older sister was the complete opposite, she loved having her picture taken!! Isn’t it funny how different your kids personalities really are?? The baby got a few shots at the end. She had been sleeping while her sisters were getting their shots and I think she wished we would have just left her that way….but she was a little trooper to let me get a few shots in! Thank you Tuckers for letting me spend some time with you. I hope your flight home was smooth!
